Safety, Care & Policies
How we keep every dog safe, healthy, and well-cared-for during their stay.
Vaccination Requirements
All dogs staying at Gratefull Pups must be current on core vaccinations. This protects every dog in our care — including yours.
Rabies
Current rabies vaccination required for all dogs, per Oregon state law.
DHPP / DA2PP
Distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza combination vaccine required.
Bordetella
Kennel cough vaccine required for all dogs boarding with us.
Please bring vaccination records to drop-off, or send them ahead of time via email. We reserve the right to decline boarding for dogs not current on required vaccines.
Temperament & Compatibility
We accept dogs of all sizes and most temperaments — but we're honest about what's a good fit. Our environment is a group boarding setting, which means dogs need to be reasonably comfortable around other dogs.
Dogs with a history of serious dog-dog aggression are generally not a good fit for our setting. Dogs who are simply selective, anxious, or prefer smaller groups often do very well here with careful management.
If you're unsure whether your dog is a good fit, please reach out and describe their personality honestly. We'll give you an equally honest answer.

- •Friendly, social dogs who enjoy other dogs
- •Selective dogs who do well in small groups

Medications & Special Needs
Oral Medications
We're comfortable administering pills, capsules, and liquid medications. Bring them in original packaging with written dosing instructions. We keep a medication log for every dog.
Special Diets
We feed your dog their own food on their own schedule — raw, freeze-dried, grain-free, prescription. Whatever they eat at home, we serve the same here.
Emergency Protocol
If your dog becomes ill or injured, we contact you immediately. We have your vet's info on file and will seek care if we can't reach you. We always err on the side of caution.
Health Intake Form
All new guests complete a health and care intake form before their first stay. This helps us understand your dog's needs, quirks, and emergency contacts.
